HOLIDAY ECO-TIP OF THE WEEK:
Wrap it up with a conscience!
Lagniappe Gift Wrap is a web-based business providing eco-friendly recycled cloth gift wrap. They say: "Lagniappe exists because we believe that our natural resources need to be respected and used to the fullest, not simply used once and disposed of. Our collection of natural fiber and recycled fabric gift bags are a quick and easy, reusable gift wrap solution that does just that. Out of respect and appreciation for the natural systems that make our lives possible, and the many future generations who will also need those natural systems to survive and thrive, we aim to make it easier for people to live a less disposable life, and to invest more in their community, including the planet and future generations."

Another fantastic site is Paporganics, offering hemp cloth wrap, recycled paper cards and cloth ribbon. If just ONE PERCENT of U.S. households used this wrap instead of conventional, in just ONE YEAR we'd save: 11,457 fully grown trees, over 1.9 million gallons of water, 2.6 billion BTUs of energy, 210,263 pounds of solid waste, and 407,773 pounds of greenhouse gases. Yikes! How can you argue with that? Talk about a humble and easy way to make a big difference. Just do it!
